SINOPSIS: Alain (Laurent Lucas), un joven y brillante ingeniero, y su mujer Benedicte (Charlotte Gainsbourg) se mudan a una nueva ciudad debido a un cambio de trabajo de éste. Invitan al nuevo jefe de Alain, Richard (André Dussollier), y a su esposa, Alice (Charlotte Rampling), a cenar una noche. La diferencia entre ellos no podría ser más extrema: por una parte, la joven pareja modelo; y por otro, una pareja corroída por el odio y el resentimiento. Esta desastrosa cena y el descubrimiento de la misteriosa muerte de un roedor marcan la caída de su vida perfecta.
